KIDS ICE CAMP™

Ice Camp is a popular industry-leading youth education program that is open to the public, and free of charge. There will be two different starting times. The first group begins at 11:00 AM with classroom instruction and demonstration of ice fishing equipment, techniques, as well as safety, conservation and environmental stewardship. Then, everyone heads out onto the ice for fishing tutorials delivered by experienced, certified NAIFC Pro-Staff instructors. A second group will start in the classroom at 11:45, followed by the on-ice experience. A hot lunch will be served after on-ice demo’s and practice, between 12:30-1:30. Before leaving, all kids who participate will receive a complimentary ice rod and tackle. Make sure to dress warmly including waterproof footwear for this outside event.

Ice Camp consists of in-class and on-ice fishing tutorials delivered by experienced, certified NAIFC Pro-Staff instructors. In addition to demonstrations of the latest techniques and sponsor provided equipment, the curriculum promotes safety, conservation and environmental stewardship.

Sponsors provide equipment and prizes for the activity, and kids who sign up and participate receive complimentary ice rods and tackle. Although Ice Camp is geared toward kids, all family members are encouraged to attend regardless of age. Introduction to the newest technology coupled with professional guidance gives both the parent and child a memorable ice fishing experience.

There are also other exciting family programs happening in West Yellowstone throughout the weekend. Kids'N'Snow Weekends offer no or low cost activities for kids (and their parents or grandparents). Activities range from snowshoe hikes, kids' ski games, and more.

Saturday nights always include an evening of ice skating, sledding on the kid's hill, hot chocolate and make-your-own S'mores. (Ice skates are available at no charge.) A full schedule with directions will be posted in January 2017 at Kids'N'Snow!
